Jay DeMarcus and his wife Allison are expecting their second child this summer and they’ve revealed the name they’ve chosen for their first son is Dylan Jay DeMarcus.

“We really are thrilled to be having a boy,” said Demarcus, speaking on behalf of himself and wife Allison while appearing with the band as co-hosts on Country Countdown USA this past weekend. “My wife, being the sweetheart that she is, decided that ‘Jay’ needed to officially be in the family, so we decided to call him Dylan Jay DeMarcus.”

Though he has been called Jay his whole life, Jay is not Demarcus’s real name. His legal name is Stanley Wayne DeMarcus Jr., named after his Father. Jay is a nickname his parents gave him deriving from the “J” in “Jr.” because though his father wanted a namesake, his parents hated the name Stanley and his father already went by the name Wayne. “You can imagine the nightmare in school, trying to get a driver’s license, because I was always called Jay” said Demarcus.

It seems safe to say that this won’t be the case for little Dylan Jay. Congratulations to Jay, Allison and Madeline on their upcoming newest addition!
